The Lord’s Supper: Holy Communion Explained

For years, children have secretly wondered, “When you bite on the bread during Communion, does Jesus say ‘ouch’?”
This amusing question is actually one of the most interesting topics in Christian theology. For the past 2000 years, Bible scholars have held four major views of how mere bread and wine are Jesus’ body and blood.

Despite the richness of the Lord’s Supper and the meaning behind it, for some people, the Lord’s Supper is merely routine and ritualistic. But it doesn’t have to be.
Did you know there are—

Unfortunately people have forgotten the significance. For example—
One advertising agency featured the Lord’s Supper in a Super Bowl ad that disturbed many Christians
Most people didn’t see the Super Bowl ad showing Doritos being served instead of communion wafers because it was yanked before it ran, reported USA Today.
There was a loud protest among those who previewed the ad in January. Despite excuses by the ad agency saying it wasn’t meant to be a parody, many people thought it was offensive.
It’s a shame that anyone should treat the body and blood of Christ as a joke. The Lord’s Supper is deeply meaningful, and is celebrated by Christians around the world. Perhaps some people have never been educated about its significance. When was the last time you heard a sermon on the importance of the Lord’s Supper?
