Bible Gateway released their handy Year in Review* data showing us the top 10 verses of 2015 and handy graphs and charts revealing Bible-reading patterns of their site visitors, including top verses and popular chapters in the Bible.
Bible Gateway even broke down their data into most popular search terms within the Bible. What’s revealing about this is that the search terms reflect what was going on in the world last year, revealing hopes, fears, or questions about current events. It’s encouraging to see that many people turn to the Bible for answers…

Their results showed a spike in searches for the word “blood moon” at the lunar eclipse September, ranking #1 for the day. The word “beheaded” was the 4th highest search term on February 16, when 21 Coptic Christians were executed for their faith. The search for “marriage” peaks in July, probably regarding the SCOTUS rulings, and possibly because of the large number of weddings held in the summer–I know I was doing the same search to prepare for my maid-of-honor speech years ago!

  1. Thanks for sharing such a great article and enlightening us on this crucial topic. The end time is upon us and the second coming of our Lord “Jesus Christ” is coming. Still, many people don’t believe it even after seeing situations like Coronavirus all around the world. I suggest you guys read a book on bible prophecies about end-time if you don’t want to read the Holy Bible. I personally start with the book and that gives me the motivation to read the Holy Bible and understand God Almighty. So, you can prepare for that time. Thanks again. I love reading your article.
