5 Verses to Help You Engage in God’s Word

verses-gods-word
It was around the 4th century AD that the Bible started to become what we know it as today; from the canonization of the books of the New Testament to the Latin Vulgate, the history of the Bible is extensive and complicated. Long before the invention of the printing press however, David, Isaiah, Paul, and many others were writing about the very Word that we so easily have access to, not just in books, but on our phones and computers. As you’re going through your 30-Day Bible Challenge, it might be helpful to see how the authors of the Bible related to the inspired words they were penning… As you’re reading each of these verses, ask yourself if you’ve ever felt that way about the Scriptures.
Here are some of the most beloved Scriptures pertaining to God’s word:
6551. Psalm 119:11

Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.

2. Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.

3. Isaiah 55:11

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

4. 2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

5. Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
